Comprehensive Care for Abnormal Uterine Bleeding and Hysteroscopy

At Midland Women’s Health, we understand the significant impact that abnormal uterine bleeding can have on a woman’s quality of life. Our dedicated team of gynecologists and specialists offers advanced diagnostic and treatment options, including hysteroscopy, to effectively address abnormal uterine bleeding and provide personalised care for each patient.

Understanding Abnormal Uterine Bleeding

Abnormal uterine bleeding refers to any irregularities in the menstrual cycle, including heavy or prolonged periods, intermenstrual bleeding (bleeding between periods), and postmenopausal bleeding. These symptoms can be caused by various factors, including hormonal imbalances, uterine fibroids, polyps, adenomyosis, and reproductive tract infections.

Comprehensive Evaluation and Diagnosis

Our team begins by conducting a comprehensive evaluation to determine the underlying cause of abnormal uterine bleeding. This may include a thorough medical history review, pelvic examination, ultrasound imaging, and laboratory tests to assess hormone levels and rule out other medical conditions.

Advanced Hysteroscopy Services

Hysteroscopy is a minimally invasive procedure that allows our specialists to directly visualise the inside of the uterus using a thin, flexible instrument called a hysteroscope. This procedure can be performed in-office or as an outpatient procedure under sedation, depending on the individual’s needs and preferences.

Services Offered

Diagnostic Hysteroscopy: We offer diagnostic hysteroscopy to evaluate the uterine cavity for abnormalities such as polyps, fibroids, adhesions (scar tissue), and other structural abnormalities that may be contributing to abnormal uterine bleeding.

Operative Hysteroscopy: In cases where abnormal findings are identified during diagnostic hysteroscopy, our specialists may perform operative hysteroscopy to remove polyps, fibroids, or other abnormal tissue, as well as to perform endometrial ablation or resection of intrauterine adhesions.

Endometrial Biopsy: During hysteroscopy, our specialists may also perform an endometrial biopsy to obtain a tissue sample from the lining of the uterus for further evaluation and to rule out endometrial cancer or other serious conditions.

If you are experiencing abnormal uterine bleeding or have concerns about your gynecological health, we encourage you to schedule a consultation with our team. Together, we can determine the underlying cause of your symptoms and develop a personalised treatment plan to help you find relief and improve your quality of life.
