Bladder Neck Bulking for Stress Urinary Incontinence
A minimally invasive treatment to improve stress urinary incontinence by strengthening the bladder outlet using bulking injections.
Details
Bladder neck bulking helps reduce urine leakage during activities such as coughing, sneezing or exercise. It is usually considered when pelvic floor exercises have not been effective and may be an alternative to surgery for selected patients. Your consultant will assess suitability and discuss other available options.
Colpocleisis (Vaginal Vault Prolapse Repair)
A minimally invasive surgical option for vaginal vault prolapse in women who have previously had a hysterectomy.
Details
Colpocleisis involves closing part of the vagina to provide strong support for prolapse. It is usually recommended for women who do not wish to have vaginal penetrative intercourse in the future. Your specialist will discuss whether this is appropriate and explain alternative prolapse treatments.
Endometrial Ablation
A treatment for heavy menstrual bleeding that works by treating the lining of the womb.
Details
Endometrial ablation may reduce or stop heavy periods and is suitable for women who have completed their family. The procedure can be performed under local or general anaesthetic, depending on individual circumstances, and alternatives will be discussed during consultation.
Fascial Sling for Stress Urinary Incontinence
A surgical treatment for stress urinary incontinence using a strip of the patient’s own tissue to support the urethra.
Details
A fascial sling may be recommended when conservative treatments such as pelvic floor exercises have not worked. It aims to improve bladder control during physical activity. Your urogynaecologist will discuss risks, benefits and alternative treatment options.
Hysterectomy
A surgical procedure to remove the womb, usually considered when other treatments have been unsuccessful.
Details
A hysterectomy may be recommended for conditions such as heavy bleeding, pelvic pain, fibroids, prolapse or cancer. There are different types and surgical approaches, which your consultant will discuss along with the potential benefits and risks.
Hysteroscopy
A simple procedure that uses a small camera to examine the inside of the womb.
Details
An outpatient hysteroscopy helps investigate abnormal bleeding, fertility concerns or uterine problems. Minor treatments such as biopsies, polyp or small fibroid removal, or coil insertion or removal can often be carried out at the same appointment.
Labiaplasty
A surgical procedure to reshape or reduce the labia minora for medical or functional reasons.
Details
Labiaplasty may be considered when enlarged or asymmetrical labia cause discomfort, irritation or psychological distress. The decision to proceed is made after careful counselling and specialist consultation.
Perineoplasty
A surgical procedure to repair and strengthen the perineum, the area between the vagina and anus.
Details
Perineoplasty may be recommended following childbirth, injury or trauma to improve comfort, vaginal support and function. Your consultant will assess suitability and discuss alternative treatment options.
Removal of Polyps and Fibroids
A minimally invasive procedure to remove polyps or small fibroids from inside the womb.
Details
This treatment may be recommended for symptoms such as heavy or irregular bleeding or fertility concerns. The procedure can be performed under local or general anaesthetic, depending on individual needs and clinical findings.
Laparoscopic Sacrocolpopexy
A keyhole surgical procedure to correct vaginal vault prolapse after hysterectomy.
Details
Laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy restores vaginal support using mesh and small abdominal incisions. It may also address associated bladder or bowel prolapse. Your specialist will discuss suitability, benefits and risks.
Sacrospinous Fixation
A vaginal surgical procedure used to treat vaginal vault prolapse.
Details
Sacrospinous fixation supports the top of the vagina by attaching it to a strong ligament within the pelvis. It may be performed alone or alongside other vaginal repairs, depending on individual circumstances.
Tibial Nerve Stimulation for Overactive Bladder
A non-surgical treatment that uses gentle electrical stimulation to help control overactive bladder symptoms.
Details
Tibial nerve stimulation helps reduce urgency, frequency and leakage by influencing the nerves that control bladder function. It is usually offered when lifestyle changes or medication have not been effective and is generally well tolerated.
Vaginal Repairs
Surgical procedures used to treat vaginal prolapse by repairing weakened vaginal tissues.
Details
Vaginal repairs support the bladder, bowel or top of the vagina to relieve symptoms such as pressure, discomfort and urinary or bowel problems. Surgery is usually considered when pelvic floor exercises and conservative treatments have not been successful

With our one-stop clinic model, many consultations, scans and tests can be completed in a single visit, helping you move forward without unnecessary delays.
We provide a full range of investigations and treatments to support your individual needs, including:
- Fertility assessments – ultrasound scans, ovarian reserve testing (AMH), hormone profiling and semen analysis.
- Ovulation induction – medication to stimulate or regulate ovulation for those with irregular cycles.
- Intrauterine insemination (IUI) – placing prepared sperm directly into the uterus to improve chances of conception.
- IVF support and referral – we carry out initial diagnostics, planning and monitoring, working closely with trusted IVF centres.
- Pre-conception advice – guidance on health, lifestyle and genetic factors to optimise your chances of natural conception
A simple blood test used to assess ovarian reserve (egg supply), helping guide fertility planning, treatment decisions and future reproductive options, with results explained by a specialist.
A simple, minimally invasive procedure that may help improve embryo implantation by encouraging natural repair of the womb lining, often used alongside fertility treatment.
Comprehensive assessment and management for recurrent miscarriage, including specialist consultation, pelvic ultrasound and targeted blood tests to identify and treat potential underlying causes.
Advanced tests that assess the uterine lining for infection and microbiome balance to help identify causes of implantation failure or recurrent miscarriage and guide personalised fertility treatment.
A pelvic ultrasound is a safe, non-invasive scan that uses sound waves to assess the uterus, ovaries and surrounding pelvic organs, helping to investigate symptoms such as pelvic pain, abnormal bleeding, fertility concerns, fibroids, cysts or coil position.
Diagnostics & Investigations
At Midlands Women’s Health, we offer a comprehensive range of investigations and diagnostic services to help accurately assess your symptoms and guide appropriate treatment. This includes specialist investigations for conditions such as endometriosis, pelvic, abdominal and renal ultrasound scanning, cervical screening, and expert MRI reviews with our consultants. All investigations are arranged with a focus on clarity, reassurance and personalised care.
Endosure testing
The EndoSure Test is a non-invasive diagnostic test designed to help detect endometriosis quickly and accurately. Similar to an ECG, it measures specific activity patterns in the abdominal area that may indicate the presence of endometriosis tissue. The test is completed in around 60 minutes and results may be available the same day, helping to speed up diagnosis and treatment planning.
Key features:
Detects all stages of endometriosis
Non-invasive
Rapid test (around 60 minutes)
Same-day results possible
High accuracy
Outpatient Hysteroscopy
An outpatient hysteroscopy is a minimally invasive procedure used to examine the inside of the womb and can help investigate symptoms linked to endometriosis, such as heavy bleeding, pelvic pain, or fertility difficulties. It allows your specialist to assess the uterine lining and, if needed, carry out minor treatments such as biopsy or removal of polyps during the same visit.
Transvaginal Ultrasound
A transvaginal ultrasound is a key investigation in assessing suspected or known endometriosis. It allows detailed evaluation of the uterus, ovaries and surrounding pelvic structures to identify features such as endometriomas, pelvic tenderness, reduced organ mobility or other signs associated with endometriosis.
Scans are usually performed early in the menstrual cycle (days 2–5) and may be combined with hormone blood tests where appropriate. Follow-up scans can be arranged if further assessment is required, helping your specialist build a clear picture and guide ongoing management.
MRI Image Review for Endometriosis
MRI imaging plays an important role in diagnosing and mapping endometriosis, particularly when disease is deep or complex. Our specialist radiologists review MRI scans to assess the presence and extent of endometriosis, including deep infiltrating disease, endometriomas, adhesions, and involvement of organs such as the bowel or bladder. A detailed report is provided and reviewed with your consultant to guide personalised treatment and, where appropriate, surgical planning.
Abdominal and renal ultrasound scans are safe, non-invasive tests used to assess the organs within the abdomen and urinary system, including the liver, gallbladder, kidneys and bladder. They are commonly used to investigate abdominal pain, bloating, urinary symptoms, abnormal blood results or to monitor known conditions. Scans are quick, painless, involve no radiation, and results are reviewed and explained by our specialists.
A pelvic ultrasound is a safe, non-invasive test that uses sound waves to create images of the pelvic organs, including the uterus, cervix, fallopian tubes and ovaries. It helps assess pelvic structure and identify causes of symptoms such as pain, bleeding or cysts.
The scan may be performed transabdominally (over the abdomen using gel) or transvaginally (using a slim probe inserted into the vagina) to obtain clearer, more detailed images. Both methods are painless and involve no radiation.
A cystoscopy is a diagnostic procedure used to examine the inside of the bladder and urethra using a thin telescopic camera passed through the urethra. It helps investigate symptoms such as recurrent urinary infections, bladder pain, urgency, difficulty passing urine or blood in the urine, and minor treatments or biopsies can sometimes be carried out at the same time. The procedure is usually quick and well tolerated, performed either with local anaesthetic using a flexible scope or under general anaesthetic if a rigid scope is required, with most patients returning to normal activities shortly afterwards.
A cervical screening test checks the health of the cervix by testing for high-risk human papillomavirus (HPV) and, where appropriate, examining cervical cells (cytology). It helps detect early changes that could lead to cervical cancer before symptoms develop.
At Midlands Women’s Health, we offer comprehensive cervical screening with expert review, clear results and personalised advice. The test is quick, usually only mildly uncomfortable, and plays an important role in protecting long-term cervical health
