How the EndoSure Test Can Help
Endometriosis affects around 1 in 10 women in the UK, yet it remains one of the most under-diagnosed gynaecological conditions. Women often live with debilitating symptoms such as painful periods, pelvic pain, fatigue, and fertility struggles for years before being given a clear answer.
In fact, research shows that the average time to get an endometriosis diagnosis in the UK is around eight years. That is eight years of uncertainty, discomfort, and disruption to daily life.
At Midlands Women’s Health, we believe women deserve better. That is why we offer the EndoSure Test. It is a safe, non-invasive and highly accurate way to detect endometriosis without the need for surgery.
Why is endometriosis so difficult to diagnose?
There are a few reasons why endometriosis diagnosis is often delayed:
- Symptoms are wide-ranging: Endometriosis can cause painful or heavy periods, pelvic pain, bloating, pain during sex, bowel issues, or problems with fertility. Because these symptoms overlap with other conditions, it is not always easy to identify.
- Traditional diagnosis involves surgery: For many years, the only way to confirm endometriosis was through a laparoscopy (keyhole surgery). While effective, it requires a hospital procedure, waiting lists, and recovery time.
- Symptoms are not always taken seriously: Sadly, many women are told their pain is “just part of being a woman”. This can delay referrals, tests and treatment.
The result is years of uncertainty and untreated pain.
A quicker, non-invasive way to test for endometriosis
The EndoSure Test is transforming the way we diagnose endometriosis in the UK. Unlike surgery, it is completely non-invasive. Here is what makes it different:
No surgery, no needles, no pain
- Simple and quick. The test takes less than an hour
- Fast results. In many cases, you will have an answer the same day
- Clinically proven accuracy. Studies show EndoSure is highly reliable at detecting endometriosis in all stages
For many women, this means they can finally move from years of unanswered questions to a clear, evidence-based diagnosis in a single appointment.
What to expect from the EndoSure Test
If you are considering private endometriosis testing at Midlands Women’s Health, here is what your appointment will look like:
- Preparation. You will be asked to avoid eating for 6-8 hours before the test.
- The test itself. Painless sensors are placed on your abdomen to measure activity from your organs (a bit like an ECG for your tummy).
- Analysis. The test looks for a unique “fingerprint” pattern linked to endometriosis.
- Results. These are processed quickly, and in many cases, you will get your results during the same visit.
Most women find the test straightforward and comfortable, with no recovery time needed.
Why an early diagnosis matters
Getting a diagnosis is not just about having a name for your symptoms. It can make a real difference to your health and wellbeing. An earlier diagnosis means:
- Peace of mind. Knowing what is happening in your body.
- Tailored treatment. Once diagnosed, your doctor can recommend the right treatment options for you.
- Improved quality of life. Better management of symptoms, fertility planning, and less time lost to pain.
- Validation. Reassurance that your symptoms are real and recognised.
At Midlands Women’s Health, we often hear from patients who feel a huge sense of relief after finally getting answers.

Endometriosis Testing FAQs
Is the EndoSure Test painful?
No. The test is completely non-invasive. Sensors are placed on your abdomen, similar to an ECG. Most women find it very comfortable.
How long does the EndoSure Test take?
The test usually takes around 30–60 minutes, and you will often receive your results the same day.
Do I need to prepare before the test?
You may be asked not to eat for a few hours before your appointment, but otherwise no special preparation is required.
How accurate is the EndoSure Test?
Clinical studies have shown that the EndoSure Test is highly accurate at detecting endometriosis in all stages.
Can I get the EndoSure Test on the NHS?
Currently, the EndoSure Test is offered privately at Midlands Women’s Health but NHS pathways still rely mainly on laparoscopy for confirmed diagnosis.
How much does the EndoSure Test cost?
At Midlands Women’s Health, the EndoSure Test is available from £400. Please get in touch with our team to discuss pricing and payment options.
Other common questions about endometriosis and tests
Can a smear test detect endometriosis?
No. A cervical smear (Pap smear) only checks for changes in the cells of the cervix and cannot detect endometriosis.
Can a urine test detect endometriosis?
Currently, no standard urine test can diagnose endometriosis. Research is ongoing, but at present, it cannot be confirmed this way.
Can endometriosis be detected by a blood test?
There is no single blood test that can diagnose endometriosis. Blood tests may be used to rule out other conditions or to check overall health, but they cannot confirm endometriosis on their own.
Can endometriosis be diagnosed with a blood test?
Not at the moment. Some studies are exploring possible blood markers, but these are not yet reliable enough for routine diagnosis.
Can endometriosis be found in a blood test?
No. Endometriosis cannot be directly identified in blood tests. It requires specific diagnostic methods such as the EndoSure Test or laparoscopy.
Can endometriosis cause a false negative pregnancy test?
No. Pregnancy tests measure levels of the hormone hCG, which endometriosis does not affect. Endometriosis itself does not cause false negatives.
Can endometriosis cause a false positive pregnancy test?
No. Endometriosis does not affect hCG levels, so it cannot cause a false positive pregnancy test. A positive test usually indicates pregnancy, though other rare conditions can also raise hCG.
Can endometriosis cause a positive pregnancy test?
Only pregnancy causes a true positive result. Endometriosis cannot make a pregnancy test turn positive.
Can endometriosis give a false positive pregnancy test?
No. Endometriosis is not linked to false positives on pregnancy tests.
