When you are trying to conceive, it’s important to separate fact from fiction. Some of these myths could hold you back from getting the care and fertility treatment you need.

Myth 1 : Infertility is a woman’s problem

Male factor is important reason for cause of fertility. This could’ve because of low or no sperm or problems in ejaculation. It’s very important for Male partners to be tested earlier on during evaluation.

Myth 2: Age does not affect fertility

Age is a significant contributor for infertility. Age can be the sole reason for not getting pregnant. Both male & female fertility declines with age.

Myth 3: Using Birth control can cause infertility

Birth control does not affect fertility. Periods do come back to normal after stopping the pills. If periods do not come back in 3 months of stopping the pill you should see a gynaecologist

Myth 4 : Stress does not affect fertility

Stress can affect fertility. Chronic stress can cause hormonal imbalance, affecting ovulation in women and sperm production in men. Managing stress through yoga, acupuncture, relaxation techniques or simple exercise positively influence fertility.
