Investigation and Management of Recurrent Miscarriage
Our consultant gynaecologists offer comprehensive investigation and treatment for miscarriage and recurrent miscarriage at Midland Women’s Clinic.
Around 1% of couples attempting to conceive are affected by recurrent miscarriage, defined as 3 or more miscarriages in a row. Our investigations and treatments can help to support patients through what can be a distressing time, by determining whether an underlying condition has caused a miscarriage to occur.
Our investigations into miscarriage include a pelvic ultrasound scan and blood test, which test for treatable conditions, such as Anti Phospholipid Antibody Syndrome.
Our gynaecologists offer a scan and consultation for early pregnancies following miscarriage.
We also offer a full recurring miscarriage investigation including consultations and scans.
A comprehensive blood test is also available, which includes:
- Thyroid Function Test
- Vitamin D Levels
- Calcium Levels
- HbA1C Levels
- Thrombophilia
- Full Blood Count
- Coagulation profile
- Antithrombin 111
- Factor V Leiden – Common Mutation
- MTHFR Common Variants
- Fibrinogen
- Lupus Anticoagulant
- Protein C
- Free Protein Sag
