Dr Moji Balogun is a Consultant Radiologist specialising in all aspects of diagnostic Gynaecological Imaging. She obtained her primary medical degree in Nigeria in 1989 and after medical rotations in Scarborough and Leicester, obtained her MRCP in London in 1995. She undertook her Specialist Radiology training in Leeds and Birmingham, obtaining her CCST in 2001.
She has been a Consultant at the Birmingham Women’s Hospital and Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, both teaching hospitals, since April 2001, holding the role of Clinical Lead for 9 years until 2021.
Dr Balogun is a fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists (RCR), a member of the British Society of Urogenital Radiology (BSUR), the European Society of Radiology (ESR) and the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA).
She is actively involved in teaching and training; is a module lead for the West Midlands Radiology Academy, RCR college tutor for the Birmingham Women’s Hospital, was on the ESR e-learning subcommittee for gynae imaging for 5 years until 2021. She lectures nationally and internationally.
Dr Balogun acts as a reviewer for peer-reviewed journals such as the British Journal of Radiology (BJR) and the European Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Reproductive Biology (EJOGRB) as well as Clinical Radiology, the RCR journal, on which she was until recently on the editorial board. She has published papers in numerous peer-reviewed journals and book chapters.
